Bingham Creek
The Story
Bingham Creek sits on land that was formerly a gravel pit and quarry in the Welby area of South Jordan. When the Daybreak master-planned community was developed, disc golf appeared on early city park renderings — discovered by Dan Langford, who had been sleuthing city websites and park plans for years.
Langford navigated Salt Lake County Parks bureaucracy for over 13 years, working with multiple county contacts as turnover shuffled the department. In 2022, tee pads and basket sleeves appeared as a surprise — Dan and his wife discovered them while walking the park. COVID contractor delays, drought that killed seeded vegetation, and supply chain issues pushed the timeline back roughly two years from the original target.
The course held its ribbon cutting in June 2023 and hosted its first sanctioned tournament when it was added to the Salt Lake Open rotation as a B-tier venue. The Daybreak Disc Golf Club, which existed as a community group long before the course was built, continues to guide Salt Lake County on course improvements. ElevateUT runs the "Chains of the Chupacabra" themed league series at Bingham Creek, complete with produced video trailers.

What Players Say
Honestly, a solidly designed and fun course with the majority of holes being interesting. Very much looking forward to the future of this course! Plant some trees, do some landscaping and it'll be beloved by many.
This is a terrific course that I was at first skeptical about. I am no longer a skeptic. Really fun shots. Nice to have some longer par 4 holes. Great challenges and really not tough disc finding for the most part.
It's an open bomber course. The equipment (pads, baskets, signs) is top tier. The mowed fairways are nice; could be tighter inside the circle. Can't imagine the howling west winds later in the day.
You can tell this course is going to be amazing. It's newly installed so it is still a work in progress. The park is still adding new parking lots and amenities which will really bring up the quality of the course. It's bare bones right now but still a very challenging course. Especially in the wind.
Kind of brown dead and featureless late summer, but they have done a good job of adding mandos and an island to force some shot variety. There's also a decent mix of long and short holes. Signage and tees are great.
Maintenance
Salt Lake County Parks handles mowing and general park upkeep. The Daybreak Disc Golf Club coordinates volunteer efforts for disc-golf-specific improvements — vegetation management, basket positioning feedback, and fairway definition. The course is still maturing; reviewers note ongoing development of turf, shade trees, and fairway definition. As a young course built on former quarry land, the landscape continues to develop each season.
