Who We Are

ElevateUT Disc Golf is a Utah 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN 92-2719419) based in Salt Lake City, Utah. We help cities fund, design, and build disc golf courses and run the leagues that keep them alive.

This policy applies to information collected through our website at elevateut.org and any related communications. For privacy inquiries, email scott@elevateut.com.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate our programs and communicate with the disc golf community. This includes:

• Email addresses — when you subscribe to our newsletter via the signup form on our website. Subscription is entirely voluntary.
• Contact form submissions — your name, email address, selected topic, and message when you use the contact form at /contact.
• Website analytics — we use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-XJY6CSLLDW) to understand how visitors use our site. This may include your approximate location, browser type, device, and pages visited. This data is aggregated and anonymized.
• Donation information — if you donate through PayPal, PayPal processes your payment and we receive only what is necessary to acknowledge your gift. We do not store payment card numbers.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, government IDs, or financial account details.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Send newsletter updates about disc golf courses, leagues, events, and ElevateUT programs — only if you subscribed
• Respond to your contact form inquiries
• Acknowledge donations and fulfill sponsorship commitments
• Improve website content and user experience through aggregate analytics

We will never use your information for purposes materially different from those listed above without notifying you and, where required, obtaining your consent.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data under their own privacy policies:

• Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — email delivery platform for newsletter campaigns and contact form notifications. Brevo stores subscriber email addresses in the European Union. Brevo Privacy Policy
• Google Analytics — website analytics. Google may transfer data internationally. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google Privacy Policy
• PayPal — payment processing for donations. PayPal is solely responsible for securing payment information. PayPal Privacy Policy

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties. Period.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above:

• Newsletter subscribers — until you unsubscribe or request deletion
• Contact form messages — retained in our email system for as long as reasonably needed to resolve your inquiry
• Analytics data — retained per Google Analytics default settings (up to 26 months)

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Unsubscribe — click the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or email us directly
• Request deletion — ask us to delete your personal data from our systems
• Know what we have — request a summary of personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccuracies — ask us to update incorrect information

To exercise any of these rights, email scott@elevateut.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA)

Utah residents have additional rights under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (Utah Code Ann. § 13-61-101 et seq.), effective December 31, 2023. These include the right to:

• Know whether we are processing your personal data
• Access your personal data that we process
• Delete personal data you provided to us
• Obtain a portable copy of personal data you provided to us
• Opt out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell personal data)

Note: As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, certain UCPA provisions may not apply to all of our data processing activities. However, we honor the rights described above for all users regardless.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies primarily for analytics purposes (Google Analytics). These are small text files stored on your device that help us understand site usage patterns. We do not use cookies for advertising or to track you across other websites. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect site functionality.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
