Roosevelt, UT · Desert course on the outskirts of Roosevelt — Uintah Basin

Teddy's Playground

18 holes · Est. 2024

The Story

Teddy's Playground opened in 2024 on the desert outskirts of Roosevelt, Utah, becoming one of the few disc golf courses serving the Uintah Basin. The course was built by local disc golf advocates connected to Uintah Basin Disc Golf, the community group led by Jordon Thompson that is working to expand disc golf access across the region.

The 18-hole layout takes advantage of the natural desert terrain with elevation changes, sandy washes, and wide-open bomber lines. The course plays 9 holes out and 9 holes back. It is still maturing — paths between holes are being worn in by play, and signage is gradually being improved. Pink wayfinding flags help visitors navigate between tees and baskets.

The desert environment presents unique challenges: cactus is prevalent throughout the fairways, sand makes disc recovery difficult, and the lack of shade makes summer play demanding. Reviewers consistently note the course's potential and the improving conditions with each season. The course is best played in spring and fall when temperatures are moderate.

What Players Say

kolsenb★★★

Desert, great views, sandy, cactus, plenty of room. Be sure to bring water. Don't bring a cart — there aren't yet well established paths between holes. Check the layout before playing, it's 9 down and 9 back for 18. Tons of potential and definitely challenging. Worth the drive and the hike.

Not fully finished with signs but one of my new favorite desert style courses! Fun variety of shots with elevation changes and excellent views.

Has lots of potential. The more people play it, the better the paths will get worked in. Great variety of shots including some bombers. Pink flags between tee boxes and pins was a huge help for this out-of-towner.

Great desert course! Very challenging to find discs at times. Nice long par 4's and 5's.

Awesome course!!! Will get better with time. Challenging.

Maintenance

Maintained by local volunteers from the Uintah Basin disc golf community. The course is still in early development — signage, fairway clearing, and path definition are ongoing projects. Baskets are semi-permanent and may be repositioned as the layout evolves. Wind can knock down baskets. Cactus clearing in fairways is a recurring need.
